About English Golden Retrievers
The English Golden Retriever isn’t a separate breed but rather a variation, a different style, of the golden retriever, tracing its roots back to 19th-century Scotland. The style commonly referred to as English Cream Golden Retrievers are actually Golden Retrievers imported primarily from Europe. They are bred to the FCI standard instead of the AKC standard for Golden Retrievers. Though commonly called “English” due to the influence of UK breeding and early show success there, these dogs may be bred in many countries like the U.S., Canada, and various European nations.
